Write a letter and win a prize!

How long it has been since you have written on an Inland letter card?
If you have not experienced the fun of writing a letter sitting at a cosy corner at your home with pen and a post card or Inland letter, here's a chance to do it now!
It could also bring you laurels and prizes!

Tamil Nadu Postal Circle has announced a Letter Writing Competition for school kids studying in class 3 to 12 in different age group categories.

Sub Junior Category - kids in classes 3 to 5 can choose to write a letter to their friend about a place visited recently or to a friend or cousin about their favourite teacher at school.

Juniors studying in classes 6 to 8 can write on any one of these topics:
A letter to a friend about a book you have read recently.
A letter to a friend about an unforgettable experience in your life / lesson you have learnt from the experience.
Or a letter to a friend about a post office visit from your school.

Seniors in classes 9 to 12 have the options to write a letter to a pen friend abroad, highlighting the various services offered by India Post, a letter to a friend about global warming and its consequences and the role of student community to protect the environment and a letter to a friend about the creation of casteless society.

So, go to a nearby post office, buy an inland letter and start writing the letter.
Address it to The Director (Mail Business), First Floor, Greams Road PO, Chennai 600 006.

You should go back to the post office to put your letter into the short-little-red post box!

More details are available here - http://www.tamilnadupost.nic.in/phil/lwrtng.htm

I bet it is fun!
The last date for your letter to reach the organisers is Oct. 20, 2008
